Telmaco, in partnership with d&b audiotechnik and with White Veil as the end client, has completed the installation of the new sound system at Panathinaikos BC's iconic arena — setting a new standard in professional audio for venues of more than 18,000 spectators.
With a capacity of more than 18,000 spectators, the OAKA Basketball Arena called for a solution that would ensure uniform coverage, high clarity and reliable performance in every seat, for every type of event. Built on the d&b AL Series and on d&b's "Democracy for Listeners" philosophy, the new system delivers a consistent listening experience, outstanding speech intelligibility and the flexibility that a modern, multi-purpose venue demands.
The system had to deliver sufficient sound pressure level (SPL) and clear, consistent, full-range coverage across the entire audience area for all event types. To design the solution, the Telmaco team developed a full 3D model of the arena, optimising the layout of the systems and rigging points to achieve best-in-class coverage even within the space's particular structural constraints.
Thanks to easy-to-use presets, the system adapts readily to the needs of sporting events, concerts and corporate functions, activating the appropriate zones each time for optimal acoustic performance.
