A 50 Year Legacy of Innovation
1975
Telmaco S.A formed to service Greek Industry and New Technologies. Major contracts with OTE (Hellenic Telecommunications Organization).
1981-1988
- Major contracts including Athens Hippodrome, Irinis & Filias Stadium, Production and Post Production studios.
- New international broadcast Business Partners (incl. Ikegami, Grass Valley Group, Vinten, Abekas, Aston and others)
1989-1991
- Telmaco forms new specialized Broadcasting Division and assists in construction of Antenna TV. Also undertakes the first large post production studio.
- First OB Vans construction for the State Broadcaster. (ERT).
- RF Division established and wins major contracts.
1992-1994
Telmaco moves to larger premises and further invests in the Broadcasting Division to win contracts for Post Production, a number of major TV stations and various digital Production Studios.
1995-1996
- Wins a turnkey contract for a hi-tech widescreen digital production facility at the Athens Concert Hall,
- Upgrades ERT-3 in Thessaloniki,
- RF Division completes a large state-TV antenna project.
1997-1998
- Broadcast & AV Divisions support IAAF championships,
- Major AV contracts in theatres, conference venues, cinemas and stadiums,
- Significant projection system projects.
1998-1999
- Delivers major installations for Filmnet–Nova as pay-TV launches in Greece,
- Installs the largest display wall in Greece at OTE’s National Control Room.
2000-2003
- High-technology TV/AV expansion at the Athens Concert Hall,
- Major projects for Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation, Alter TV, Filmnet; first server-based networked editing system,
- Technical collaboration with Athens Olympic Broadcasting (AOB) and Athens 2004 Committee.
2004
- Supplier/service provider to Athens 2004,
- Three new regional digital TV stations,
- Upgrades for Nova satellite services,
- Completes Planetarium/Large-Format Theatre/Simulation Hall at Thessaloniki Technology Museum,
- C4I security projects,
- Multiple control rooms and LED walls,
- OB Vans delivery.
2005-2006
- Builds new digital playout facilities for all ERT channels (including three new DTT channels),
- Installs special AV systems at FHW “THOLOS”,
- AV systems at C4I Administration Centre in Doha for the Asian Games 2006.
2007-2008
- Leads Greece in tapeless TV production; completes NOVA tapeless production, playout & archive,
- Major STAR Channel relocation; Athens Concert Hall expansion, state-of-the-art AV/lighting for FHW “THEATRON” & “THOLOS”,
- NBG projects,
- New OTE NOC/VOC control room,
- Wins OTE TV contribution & distribution upgrade.
2009-2012
- AV systems for the Acropolis Restoration Service
- Onassis Cultural Center,
- Museum installs (Thermopylae Historic Center, Thessaloniki Museum of Cinema),
- Major turnkey broadcast projects: SIGMA TV relocation, Kontra Channel, ANT1 continuity & multichannel playout, STAR Central Greece DVB-T, OTE & Digea monitoring, WebTV systems,
- Turnkey AV/lighting for National Theatre of Bahrain,
- Malta’s Parliament; broadcast systems for Ethiopian TV networks.
2013-2014
- AV & lighting for the Malta Opera House,
- AV for the New Maltese Parliament,
- European Commission frame contracts (AV/IT) in Brussels,
- Titling systems for SNFCC and digital systems for the Greek National Opera,
- Further contracts for Ethiopian TV networks.
2014-2015
Greek National Opera “Virtual Premieres”: multi-camera capture (HD PTZ), streaming server, editing/storage, subtitling generator, archive & portal subsystems.
2016
InAVation Award (Public Sector/Government Facility) for the House of Representatives of Malta.
2017
InAVation Award (Leisure & Entertainment Facility) for Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center.
2019-2020
Green Pixel Productions: multi-studio HD upgrades across two sites (Kifissia/Pallini), including Grass Valley cameras & vision mixers, LAWO audio mixers, large router/multiviewers, intercom, SPG.
2020-2021
ERTFLIX OTT: backend (INSYS GO), origin/packaging, live/VOD encoders (AWS Elemental), front-end apps (web/mobile/TV), hybrid on-prem/cloud architecture.
2020-2022
NBC Ethiopia New TV Station: studio/control rooms, Avid news, LTO archive, master control & continuity playout, mobile news, satellite uplink.
2021
InAVation Award (Control Room Project) for ADMIE (IPTO).
2022
InAVation Award (Control Room Project) for Ministry of Citizen Protection.
2024
UNECA Africa Hall modernization (Addis Ababa), inaugurated 21 Oct 2024 by UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
2024
Thessaloniki Metro Control Center video wall (24/7 Barco RGB laser rear-projection) and Athens Metro Syntagma Control Center video wall upgrade.
2024
Evangelismos General Hospital: modern auditorium and the 1st Digital Operating Room integration with ultra-low-latency links for education/telementoring.
2025
InAVation Awards 2025: Best Government Project of 2024 (UNECA); Telmaco’s 5th InAVation Award (2016, 2017, 2021, 2022, 2025).
