Telmaco S.A. has successfully completed the design and construction of a state‑of‑the‑art eight‑camera OB Van, along with a matching Support Van of identical dimensions, for the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CyBC / RIK), following an international European tender procedure.
The project covered the complete system design, equipment procurement, and delivery of fully operational vehicles, ready for live television broadcasting. The Support Van houses a power generator and dedicated storage areas, providing full production and operational autonomy.
As Cyprus enters the preparation period for assuming the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2026, the project timeline was particularly demanding. Nevertheless, the project was completed within schedule, thanks to the intensive coordination of the technical teams and the supply chain.
The new mobile unit was equipped with broadcast systems from leading partner manufacturers (Grass Valley, LAWO, Riedel, Ross, Telestream, etc.), ensuring high audio and video quality, flexibility, and reliability for high‑end television productions. At the same time, training seminars were conducted for CyBC engineers and operators, while Telmaco’s commissioning team was present during the first live broadcast of the Cyprus EU Presidency.
The result is a modern, future‑proof, and fully operational mobile production unit, capable of covering a wide range of live broadcasts from its very first day of operation.
CyBC’s Senior Engineer, Kyriakos Morfitis, stated:
