Project Summary
From 2009–2011, Telmaco redesigned and upgraded NOVA’s continuity playout to a unified, HD-ready architecture. A new Central Control Room with an NVISION 8144 router, Miranda Imagestore 750 master control, Aveco Astra automation, and Rascular touch control streamlined operations across 16 channels. Multi-view monitoring and six live booths enabled flexible automation-assist or full manual control for sports and live events—without a single on-air interruption during migration.

Overview
NOVA needed to standardize disparate legacy chains and prepare for HD. Telmaco delivered a centralized, resilient core with tight automation, deterministic routing, and scalable monitoring. Operators can run the whole bouquet from the Central Control Room, or hand off selected channels to event booths with commentator voice-over, then return them instantly post-event. The design supports expansion and consistent branding while reducing operational complexity.
The Challenge
Migration to HD continuity with unified playout control.
Multiple legacy paths per channel complicated ops and maintenance.
Move to HD without risking on-air continuity.
Sports events required fast switch to manual control and VO.
Off-peak shifts needed safe operation by 1–2 operators.
The Solution
Redesigned Central Control Room with automation and flexible live-event operation.
Unified core
NVISION 8144 + Imagestore 750 under Aveco Astra automation.
