Project Summary

The Africa Hall Renovation project in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, involved a comprehensive upgrade of the audiovisual and conference technologies for the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa. Telmaco was responsible for the design verification, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of advanced AV and conference systems across the Main Hall, supporting rooms, and the Permanent Exhibition Space. The project ensures Africa Hall is equipped to host world-class events, summits, and exhibitions, reflecting its historical significance and supporting future needs with state-of-the-art technology [1]. For this project, Telmaco received the Inavation 2025 Project Winner Award.

Overview

Africa Hall, inaugurated in 1961, is a landmark venue for African unity and diplomacy. The renovation aimed to modernize its facilities to support high-level international conferences, summits, and exhibitions. The client required robust, flexible, and future-ready AV and conference infrastructure to accommodate simultaneous interpretation, digital signage, IPTV, and interactive exhibition technologies, ensuring seamless communication and accessibility for all participants [1].
