Evangelismos General Hospital in Athens, a cornerstone of Greece's healthcare system and one of the country’s oldest hospitals, has taken another step forward in innovation and excellence.
With a history dating back to 1884 and a capacity of 943 beds, the hospital continues to lead in research, education, and patient care.
In 2024, Telmaco S.A. proudly partnered with the hospital to implement an innovative two-phase project:
- Renovation of the hospital’s auditorium into a state-of-the-art learning and collaboration space.
- Integration of the first Digital Operating Room, offering groundbreaking research and educational capabilities.

The newly renovated auditorium provides advanced capabilities, including:

- Medical Education: Remote connection and live monitoring of surgical procedures and vital organ equipment in uncompressed, ultra-high-definition, real-time formats.
- Advanced Connectivity: Wired and wireless connections, teleconferencing capabilities, and an integrated AV control system.
- Multimedia Presentations
- Future-Ready Infrastructure: Real-time translation in up to four languages, advanced lighting systems, and high-quality audio.
- Integrated Technology: Direct connection between the operating room and the auditorium via Med Presence software for real-time collaboration and remote consultations.
Digital Operating Room Connectivity
The connection of the hospital’s Digital Operating Room significantly enhances research and educational functions:
- Bidirectional Transmission: Uncompressed, ultra-high-definition audio and video transfer between the Operating Room and the Auditorium.
- Live Streaming: Real-time audio and video transmission from the Operating Room to the Auditorium.
- Recording and Broadcasting: Ability to record and share video content for future training and educational purposes.
- High-Quality Connectivity: Ensures reliable performance for specialized applications such as the Real-Time Location System (RTLS).
- Future Scalability: Infrastructure ready to connect additional operating rooms to the Auditorium as needed.
