Telmaco S.A., the leading Greek company in audiovisual, television, and radio equipment projects, has completed the digital upgrade of the National Gallery – Alexandros Soutsos Museum.

This upgrade enables the unique museum of Modern Greek Art History to offer modern, high-quality services to its visitors.

The project involved implementing innovative technologies for showcasing the museum’s treasures through interactive screens and specialized equipment, while also adopting a modern communication strategy that places art at the center of the visitor experience.

Telmaco provided and installed the necessary digital equipment and software systems, enhancing the visitor experience. The company also completed custom configuration and automation programming of the installed systems.

The project was completed in a remarkably short timeframe.

Contracted at the end of January 2021, most of the installation was delivered in time for the 200-year celebration of the Greek Revolution on March 25, 2021, attended by the President of the Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and official guests from abroad.

“The significant collection of artworks at the National Gallery – Alexandros Soutsos Museum is unique. Through state-of-the-art audiovisual installations and digital media, Telmaco delivered this demanding project on time and with the high-quality standards that have always distinguished the company,” said Dimitris Kyriazis, Chairman and CEO of Telmaco S.A.

Key Aspects of the Digital Upgrade

  1. Interactive Screens and Video Walls
    • A 9-screen (3x3) video wall and a large table with 8 interactive screens (4x2) at the entrance welcome visitors and initiate interaction with the gallery’s collection.
    • Across various floors, interactive and non-interactive video walls bring the artworks to life, while a modern display system guides visitors throughout the exhibition spaces.
  2. LED Screen Overlooking the Garden
    • A 140 m² LED screen, composed of 35 panels covering the building’s windows, provides an impressive outdoor visual.
    • The screen is 85% transparent, preserving interior brightness and visibility to the exterior.
    • With a high brightness of 7,500 nits, it ensures an excellent viewing experience even during daytime.
  3. Modern 220-Seat Amphitheater
    • Equipped with a conference system including 7 presidium seats and 3 interpretation booths, allowing translation in 2 languages simultaneously.
    • Supports active participation of attendees via 224 headsets and wireless presentation capabilities.
