Telmaco S.A., Greece’s leading company in television, radio, and audiovisual equipment projects, has completed the installation of an Automated Robotic Camera System at the Hellenic Parliament.
Telmaco responded to the high and modern specifications set by Parliament and was awarded the project through an international open electronic tender.
Telmaco’s financially most advantageous proposal was selected for its technological excellence and the company’s extensive experience, having implemented similar projects in parliaments abroad.
Telmaco’s existing expertise, combined with its highly skilled personnel, enabled the rapid installation of the system and the training of Parliament staff. The Robotic Camera System is already operational, significantly enhancing the viewing experience for television audiences.
“At Telmaco, timely and high-quality project delivery has been a top priority. Through this work, we aim to contribute to the Hellenic Parliament’s mission of informing citizens effectively. This project significantly upgrades the quality of the Parliament’s television production. It is an innovative system that leverages our expertise and experience, based on cutting-edge technologies,” said Dimitris Kyriazis, President and CEO of Telmaco S.A.
The equipment used in the project comes from leading technology manufacturers such as Grass Valley, Vinten, and Fujinon. Optical fibers were used for networking, following the latest international standards.
The cameras in the system are from Grass Valley’s LDX series, a pioneering line with which Telmaco maintains a long-standing exclusive partnership in Greece and Cyprus. These high-spec cameras capture high-quality images even in challenging lighting conditions, including unpredictable lighting changes.
For fully automated camera control, the Vinten HD-VRC system was installed.
Vinten is a global leader in robotic systems. The integration and software development performed specifically for the Parliament provide advanced programming and automation functions, ensuring optimal cooperation with the Parliament’s existing systems.
High image quality is further supported by two types of Fujinon broadcast lenses, the ZA12x4.5BMD and the ZA17x7.6BMD.
