Onassis Cultural Center

The Onassis Cultural Centre was established in Athens in 2004, constructed with the exclusive funding and supervision of the Onassis Foundation. This imposing building with 18.000 sq.m. of interior areas, was built on a privately owned plot of 3.000 sq.m. covering an entire city block.

The Centre’s facilities include:

  • A 880 seat multipurpose Amphitheatre Hall, suitable for shows, concerts, stage performances, cinema screenings, lectures and conferences.
  • A 220 seat auditorium for events of smaller scale such as theatrical performances, dance shows, lectures, presentations and special cinema projections (multimedia, virtual reality).
  • A 700 sq.m. area for exhibitions and other art activities.
  • Outdoor Theatre.
  • Electronic Library.

Telmaco S.A. was awarded with the project after a tender conducted by the Onassis Foundation for:

  • Study, supply, installation, quality control, commissioning and maintenance of Theatre Production Lighting Systems.
  • Study, supply, installation, quality control, commissioning and maintenance of Theatre Sound and Communication Systems.
  • Supply, installation and commissioning of Voice Alarm and Paging System.

Telmaco’s specialized engineers and designers, in close collaboration with the client’s project manager and the on site supervisor, implemented a demanding state-of-the-art project in a short time schedule.

By installing the most innovative and contemporary technology, and by choosing products and systems of world class manufacturers such as d&b audiotechnik, ADB, Penton, Barco, SSL, Extron, Klotz, etc., both basic theatrical halls, as well as the rest of the respective facilities, were equipped with systems that cover every demand for every event, such as theatre performances, lectures, musical shows, conferences, presentations, etc.
